CONCEPTION

Automobile design requires sophisticated tools : The FAM Automobile design office uses highly efficient cutting edge computer hardware.
Develop products meeting the customer's requirements (see above), whether technical and/or financial.

SPEAKING THE SAME LAGUAGE

Computer assisted design is not a hit and miss affair. In order to be capable of participating at all stages of a technical project (from a simple feasibility study, the design of a unique part or the complete building of a car), we need to speak the same language as the car manufacturers. FAM Automobiles uses very high performance software: Autocad, SolidWorksV8 and CATIAV5.

CATIA

In 2003, FAM Automobiles acquired the CATIAV4 then V5 (2005) software developed by Dassault Systèmes, which is used by 80% of the car manufacturers, including PSA. It is the most efficient computer assisted design tool on the market, and the one most suited to automobile design office requirements.
It facilitates the exchange of data with FAM Automobiles' partners and enables insertion of the parts created by the engineers directly into the vehicle digital models, at the manufacturer's.

DEPENDABILITY

In addition to the design office, a Dependability department has been set up at FAM Automobiles. Dependability is a method applied by the design department in order to ensure that all the resources necessary have been set up in terms of safety within the framework of the project (analytical approach) and the lifespan (feedback) of so-called "sensitive" projects such as, for example, cars running on gas.

TYPE APPROVAL DEPARTMENT

FAM Automobiles is abble to do type approval operations for vehicles, parts or accessories.

It does this on behalf of car manufacturers, importers and for FAM's own requirements.

The Department can carry out all of the trials and handle all the necessary formalities with the appropriate bodies (UTAC, DRIRE…).

We use the UTAC computer system "RACE" wich allowed us to be aware of the last ECE approval regulations.

The Department performs the following tasks :
· Type approval of products designed by FAM Automobiles
· Type approval of vehicle conversions (LPG/VNG installation, Motricité Renforcée®…)
· Type approval of accessories for vehicles
